The soaring silhouette of Es Vedrá has become an iconic symbol of Ibiza’s magnetism, however lesser well-known is the fact that Petunia Ibiza offers some of the most spectacular views of the limestone monolith on the island. A well-kept secret among locals, this boutique hotel boasts not one but four Ibiza restaurants, each one a unique dining concept in its own right, and open to guests and visitors alike. Fine dining and hearty Italian fare are offered alongside tempting tacos and avant-garde Japanese cuisine, all tied together by the quintessential Balearic spirit that wafts among the summery, herb-scented air.

Those very same herbs are harvested, alongside a bounty of plump fruits and vegetables for use at La Mesa Escondida, Petunia Ibiza’s crowning culinary glory. Featuring a menu that reinvents traditional Mediterranean favourites using produce from the lush onsite gardens, this Ibiza restaurant is helmed by Chef Lorenzo Garrispani, who specialises in honest, quality plates that let the ingredients shine. Grilled red shrimps are served with chive oil, baby squid comes with citrus and squid ink mayo, and mains include sea bass, lobster and Iberian pork — all to be enjoyed while shaded by billowing parasols and palm trees, the Med glistening in the distance.

For even loftier sea views, diners head to La Mirada Rooftop, where Petunia Ibiza’s scene-stealing vistas are merged with a jaw-dropping Japanese menu to memorable effect. Chef Hector Hernández presides over the Ibiza restaurant‘s kitchen, creating refined but flavour-packed dishes designed to impress in equal measure to the setting sun. Start with gyozas or tempura, move on to oh-so-tasty nigiri, sashimi and uramaki, and finish with sesame ice cream, green tea sorbet or matcha brownie. Don’t leave before trying the fabulous array of cocktails — few places can match the magic of the Asian-inspired concoctions available here.

A more casual dining option at Petunia Ibiza comes in the form of Italian-style trattoria, Los Olivos. The wood-fired pizzas at this Ibiza restaurant are already renowned island-wide for their doughy bases and tantalising array of toppings, but an à la carte menu is now also a contender for star of the show. Starters include aubergine parmigiana and vitello tonnato, while mains range from spaghetti pesto di rucola, lamb ragu gnocchi and burrata salad. For dessert, the tiramisu is already the stuff of legend. Settle in for an evening of laid-back comfort food and views that are hard to beat.

Finally, the recent addition of La Taqueria de Es Vedrà has also been drawing inquisitive foodies to Petunia Ibiza. An alfresco food truck serving up a gourmet dining experience, this Ibiza restaurant specialises in a simple but superb menu spotlighting the humble taco. Six versions of the Mexican street food staple are available, ranging from Black Angus beef and marinated tuna to lobster with chipotle mayo and vegan tempeh with tequila. Sit back, grab a snack, sip a cocktail. At Petunia Ibiza, it’s not just the view that’s hypnotic.
