Can you keep a secret? The hottest new name in Ibiza gastronomy isn’t a slick restaurant, a celebrity chef or a new style of cuisine – rather, it’s a unique concept surrounding unique, one-off, open-air dinners held in top secret, authentic Ibiza locations throughout the summer.
Founded and hosted by Ibiza locals – David Beynon and Peachy Keane – with a passion for food and drink, a love of sharing meals with friends and inspired by the abundance of quality produce found in the Balearics, Clandesdining Club celebrates the rich agricultural heritage of the island, fusing it with a sense of fun, intrigue and innovation.
After two much-talked about, successful events in 2013 – read White Ibiza blogger Miss W’s review of the debut Clandesdining Club dinner here – the concept has expanded in 2014 to incorporate five different locations, chefs and themes between August and October… although of course, due to the clandestine nature of the affair, details are shrouded in secrecy until seven days prior to each event.
Here’s what we can tell you however: You don’t want to miss this!
Locations range from little-known farms found at the end of bumpy, dusty dirt tracks to off-the-map, hidden locations and will be announced privately two days before each event, only to those who have booked to attend the event… Expect huge, communal style tables beneath the stars, open-air makeshift (yet professional) kitchens, great music, a melting pot of interesting people from different cultures and above all, a little slice of authentic, Ibiza magic!
A series of celebrated guest chefs from both on and off the island will be applying their skills, knowledge and flair to the Clandesdining Club in summer 2014, including Mark Poynton (Michelin starred Restaurant Alimentum, Cambridge), Adam Simmonds (The Pavilion Restaurant, London and 2014 winner of The Great British Menu), Fred Bolin (Disappearing Dining Club, London), Steve Durham (The Hospitality Sorcerer), Tim Payne (Sands, Ibiza and formerly of Paradise, London) and Simon Smyth (Laurelito, Ibiza). Keep your eyes on the White Ibiza Gourmet Blog the week before each event for a sneak preview into each chef’s mobile kitchen and an insight into their top secret menu plan.
The cost of each event is 85€ per person, for a four course meal and a welcome drink (a cash bar is also onsite at each event). To reserve your seat at any of the future Clandesdining Club events, contact email@example.com, stating which date you are interested in attending, how many guests and include a contact number.
