Ibiza has been a hub of fashion creativity ever since the bohemians and hippies started flocking here in the ‘60s, and today boasts a flourishing style scene renowned around the world. But perhaps one of the island’s lesser known areas of expertise is the wonderful world of jewellery design…
Over the past few years, more and more local designers have been springing up on the scene, led by personal inspiration rather than trends, and offering something to suit all styles, tastes and budgets. Alongside well-known and established Ibiza jewellery designers Natasha Collis, Cyd Hutton of JOY Jewellery, Victoria Durrer Gasse and Nino D’Agata, we’d now like to introduce you to five hot new names to watch within the Ibiza jewellery scene!
Delicate, subtle and stylish, Ibiza jewellery designer Tanja Ting plays with imperfect shapes and textures to create her exquisite range.
The former fashion model makes each piece by hand here in Ibiza, taking inspiration from her daily moods, her childrens whimsical illustrations and the island around her, letting her creations organically evolve around her.
2. Spiritual Gypsy
A classic example of the modern bohemian, Spiritual Gypsy designer Emma David creates high-end jewellery with the intention of making you look good and feel even better.
From beautiful handcrafted affirmation pendants to amulets for protection and sparkling high-end trinkets designed to elevate your state of being, love and positive energy are the most important part of the creation process.
3. Shakti Ellenwood
Designer goldsmith Shakti Ellenwood lovingly makes each piece of her classical jewellery by hand, using the world’s most precious resources.
Drawing heavily on symbolism and inspired by years of living in the Far East, the natural beauty of her home in Ibiza plus ancient civilisations, each piece is designed to be a powerful prayer for the wearer.
4. Ruby Bazaar
A striking selection of handcrafted leather bags and beautifully handcrafted ethnic jewellery designed by Nicola Burrows inspired by hippy lifestyles, faraway souks and tribal traditions.
Perfectly fitting fashion’s current fixation with all things folk, gypsy and bohemian, fringing, feathers, beading and an array of colours are prevalent throughout the on-trend collection.
5. Sienna Bloom
Designed here in Ibiza, then heart and handmade in Spain, each Sienna Bloom creation takes inspiration from nature, international cultures, spirituality and trends alike.
Made using a silver-plated four metal alloy base, the collections are 100% nickel free to avoid many common allergic reactions. Plus they look pretty shiny and special to boot!
