Ibiza stylist, personal shopper and lover of the high seas Renu Kashyap of Styled by Renu says: “Ah, one of my (and my clients) favourite things to do in summer is going sailing to Formentera – a must do when you visit the island. I love to go totally nautical: red, whites and blues all the way.” Follow her rules for dressing for a day on the high seas…
DO: Travel light – you don’t want to be lugging heavy bags onboard.
DON’T: Bring a bulky beach towel – a lightweight (but chic), multifunctional sarong is all you need in the Ibiza summer heat.
DO: Wear a strapless dress over a strapless bikini to avoid messy tan lines
DON’T: Forget to apply sunscreen!
DO: Choose flat shoes as your foot candy for day.
DON’T: Wear high heels. Sorry, no wedges either. Do I really need to explain the complications?
DO: Accessorise wisely – oversized sunglasses and a big straw hat protect your skin and your eyes while looking fab.
DON’T: Bother with trinkets or bling – remember, you’re going to get wet at some point!
DO: Bring a light, sheer kaftan to throw over your bikini for cocktails at sunset.
DON’T: Worry about make-up – the glow from your sun-kissed skin is perfect enough.
