Ibiza yoga teacher Arun Eden-Lewis completed his first yoga teacher training in 2001 in the Sivananda style before going on to complete two more advanced teacher training courses with Godfrey Devereux in DynamicYoga.
Arun has journeyed to India, Sri Lanka and Bali seeking the most valuable yoga knowledge from the most inspiring teachers in the world. He has practiced extensively in Ashtānga Vinyāsa and Iyengar Yoga. He has also enjoyed the privilege of being taught by the late Indian masters Sri K Pattabhi Jois and BKS Iyengar.
Drawing on all these strands, and many years of self-practice and teaching, Arun has developed the unique PrajňāYoga method, of which the ever inspiring eight Indians sequence is an integral part. The PrajňāYoga method combines a simple sequencing structure with the cultivation of a deeply sophisticated sensitivity to the bodymind. Based on the principle of ‘vinyāsa’, meaning ‘to place the bodymind in a special way’, PrajňāYoga is the graceful exploration of strength and beauty, both within and without, qualities more usually called stability and ease or stirha, sukham in the yoga tradition, and it is in these qualities that all things exist, in a constant state of change.
Finding our balance, mentally, emotionally and physically in a constantly changing universe is the very definition of harmony. To be able to find this balance requires awareness and practice, to maintain this balance requires skill. The cultivation of awareness and skill through committed and passionate practice is the PrajňāYoga method. Arun invites you to commit passionately and sensitively to the art of yoga.
