A love letter to Ibiza

Dear Ibiza I have something to confess. I think I love you.

Dear Ibiza I have something to confess. I think I love you. No, as a matter of fact, I know I do. It’s been more than 10 years since I fell in love at first sight and I’m still head over heels in love.

Sometimes I get a little sad that I have to share you with millions of other people. But then I think, they can’t possibly love you as much as I do. On one hand, I’m so happy that you give others so much joy and so much pleasure and I’m proud that your beauty, nature and lifestyle attracts more and more people each year. And then on the other hand, I kind of wish I could keep you all to myself. I love you because you’re always there for me. You’re my rock – quite literally. I miss you like crazy when I do happen to leave the island (which is rare, because I can’t bare to part with you), and there is no greater feeling than arriving back home after a trip. That feeling as the plane swoops over Es Vedra and the old town comes into sight… it still gives me butterflies in my stomach to this day.

Your natural beauty takes my breath away each and every day – your stunning light and beautiful rolling hills can make the most boring trip down the highway into a living work of art. I love strolling the streets of your ancient city, just thinking about all the history within those walls. I love gazing out over your countryside, across the azure Mediterranean Sea, and over the whitewashed buildings of town. Not a day goes by that I don’t appreciate your spectacular surroundings. They say if you do what you love, then you’ll never work a day in your life, and I’m so happy my job is centred all around you. I’ll never get tired of writing about your beaches, your villas, your hotels, your restaurants, your clubs, your weddings, your events, your spas, your wellness scene, your style and your people…

I’ll definitely never get tired of going through photographs of you! In previous years I have confessed to being an anti-valentine and to feeling cold towards the commercial holiday, but this year I want to shout my love from the rooftops! I love you so much there just aren’t enough superlatives in the world to describe it… and I really hope you feel the same way about me. So, my darling island… will you be my Valentine? All my love Miss W xxx
