Ibiza restaurants: BEACHOUSE Ibiza – Top Ibiza breakfast spots

Playa d’en Bossa is often associated with languid lazy lunches, late afternoons on the beach and long nights spent dancing to the best DJs in the world. While all these experiences get their share of the headlines, it’s actually the mornings that are the most magical time of day on the beach on Bossa – those blissful, tranquil hours before the crowds arrive are when the beach is at its most beautiful. Luxurious restaurant BEACHOUSE Ibiza appreciates the beauty and value of these sacred few hours, and thus have designed a morning menu well worth getting up early for.

For those looking to stretch their way into the day, morning yoga classes take place on the golden sand beneath the shade of the swaying palm trees. Classes take place at 9.30am for one hour and are free (students are asked to make a donation to a local charity), following a gentle, hatha style of practice suitable for all levels of experience. They’re also the ideal way to work up an appetite for breakfast and this is where BEACHOUSE Ibiza truly shines.

From 9.30am until midday, breakfast is served on the gorgeous shaded terrace with spectacular views out across the Mediterranean Sea and all the way to Formentera on a clear day. Head chef Sebastian Altimari sources the finest local produce daily in order to create a breakfast menu that rivals even the best brunches in New York. With something to suit all appetites and dietary requirements, it’s the perfect place to start your day – whether you’re a yogi, a group of friends or a family.

It’s hard to sit down to breakfast in Europe without being tempted to start with a fresh, flaky pastry and the croissants at BEACHOUSE Ibiza are hard to beat. With freshly brewed coffee, choose classic French style, wholemeal or chocolate or upgrade to be stuffed with ham, tomato and cheese or simply lather it with butter and marmalade. But croissants are just the beginning, with the extensive menu covering sweet, savoury, healthy, hearty and veggie alike.

Light and fluffy red fruit pancakes with maple syrup or crepes with homemade chocolate sauce and banana are the main attraction for anyone with a sweet tooth or looking to indulge. Meanwhile, those looking to fuel up for the day ahead with something wholesome will love the chia seeds with mango and coconut milk, greek yoghurt, coconut granola and fresh fruit or rice with coconut milk, red fruits and pistachios.

Forget Full English – at BEACHOUSE Ibiza it’s all about the Full Veggy, a piled-high plate of grilled halloumi, corn crepes, grilled tomato, shiitake miseros, baked beans and toast. Alternative savoury dishes include fresh focaccia topped with pesto, Mozzarella and tomato or salmon, zucchini and cream cheese, while a wide list of tostadas covers the gamut of toppings from classic jamon Iberico to guacamole and more.

The pièce de résistance of the menu is the selection of organic farm eggs – all sourced right here in Ibiza and delivered to the restaurant daily. Opt for the classic Benedict, indulge in a fluffy basic scramble or upgrade it with marinated salmon or truffle for extra flavour. One of the most interesting dishes is the quinoa curry soup with poached eggs – a flavour-packed, hearty yet healthy way to ease into the day.

Wash it all down with an array of fresh-pressed juices, smoothies, teas and coffees or if you’re feeling in a festive holiday mood, no one would blame you for wanting to start with Mimosas, a Bloody Mary or icy cold champagne. All the more reason to get up early!
