Cotton Beach Club – A tale of two seasons

Ibiza is famous for its two distinct seasons – yes, you read it right, just two. We have the amazing summer, that attracts over five million tourists per year, glorious sunshine and wonderful beach weather, while in winter (the ‘other’ season) we have a tight-knit island community, even more glorious sunshine and a laidback lifestyle that has often been referred to as the ‘reward’ for working so hard in the summer months.

Good news for island residents – and those clued-up visitors who know the island is as much of a holiday destination in the winter too – is that the gorgeous Cotton Beach Club at Cala Tarida on the island’s west coast will remain open all year round, easing into its new winter timetable from November 1, 2015.

Taking the calculated risk of opening throughout the winter in their debut season paid off for the stylish eatery, which was packed each weekend with islanders who had desperately been seeking a high-end beach club to enjoy during their valuable downtime. It is winter when the residents really come out to play, and Cotton Beach Club provided the perfect setting: chic, all-white sophisticated decor, drenched in sunshine yet with wind protection and a fireplace for the chillier months, great live music, a fun vibe and fabulous food and wine.

This second ‘winter season’ sees Cotton Beach Club continue with the same great atmosphere, music and service, opening on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, plus all official Spanish holidays. The expert chefs in the kitchen will be serving up a specially created winter menu comprised of Mediterranean dishes from the Grand Terrace menu and delicious Asian sharing plates and meals from the FAY Restaurant offering.

The professional team from Kids in Ibiza are on hand to look after the little ones, so mum and dad can kick back and enjoy their Cotton Beach Club experience. Resident DJ Dalibor Dadoff brings the beats to the beach each day, mixing his sets with music from live pianists, guitarists, saxophonists and trumpet players, creating a vibrant buzz like no other beach club on the island.

On super sunny days – and we do indeed have a lot of them in the lead-up to Christmas and well into the new year – the rooftop terrace space that is home to FAY Restaurant will be opened up for those who wish to soak up the winter sun, while the Grand Terrace offers a more cosy setting – complete with two fire places and elegant clear wind protectors that block the weather, but not the breathtaking views across the Mediterranean and at the magical sunset hour.

Speaking of Christmas and New Year, Cotton Beach Club’s gift to the island is to remain open daily from 12pm until 10pm throughout the holiday season, from December 18 until January 10, 2016. The perfect location for Christmas parties, New Year’s Eve celebrations, family get togethers and festive beach gatherings alike.

But the summer season isn’t over yet! Cotton Beach Club and FAY Restaurant remain open daily from now until October 31, 2015 before switching into winter mode.
