Ibiza restaurants: Kagoshima Beef at The View
The aptly named The View at Seven Pines Resort Ibiza boasts one of the island’s most picturesque terraces. Such is its location – parallel to the sparkling Mediterranean, Es Vedrà looming in the distance – that were it not for Chef Bijendra at the helm of the kitchen, who fuses European gastronomy with Korean cooking techniques, you’d be forgiven for getting lost in vistas rather than the menu. But when there’s a plate as tantalising as Kagishima Beef placed in front of you, it’s that you’re going to struggle to tear your eyes away from.
Created using an A5 graded Kagoshima beef fillet – cut from the highest grade Japanese cattle, which guarantees an incredibly tender, full bodied flavour – and served alongside black garlic purée, charred leeks and the richest of Bordelaise sauces, this dish is a fusion of cultures and flavours destined to easily outshine any competition, even if that does come in the form of Ibiza’s most famous landmark.
