La Veranda is the beautiful terrace restaurant within Agroturismo Hotel Atzaró. Open all year round, it serves a healthy Mediterranean menu that’s fresh, full of flavour, and majorly sourced from local, fecund farmland. Brimming with delicious dishes that showcase the best the Balearics has to offer, La Veranda is a bona fide culinary sensation.

Orange groves, rosemary bushes and fresh country air surround the light, breezy dining room with its sun-drenched terrace, and with the backdrop of the mountains, it’s easy to feel at one with nature while sat at your table. Add that to the fresh produce plucked from the surrounding gardens each day, and the masterpieces visible on your plate, and you’ve got an authentic feast for the senses on your hands.

Early birds love the famous hotel breakfast (non-guests always welcome), served until midday. For lunch, try the Healthy Veranda Menu – three nutritious courses with cucumber infused water for just 30€ per person, and from a limited period in high summer, the restaurant open its stunning courtyard come evening, so you can relish gastronomic brilliance in the balmy, Balearic night.

Think patatas bravas to snack on, or melt-in-your-mouth Iberico ham with homemade rosemary focaccia to share. For mains, sample grilled vegetables – fresh from the onsite organic garden – with celery purée, aubergine and romesco sauce, or the traditional tomato gazpacho spiced up with pickled mussels. Other mains include locals’ favourite Fideuà with prawns and mushrooms, stewed scorpion fish, and Balearic suckling pig kun-pho style. Recipes rooted in history, with a modern twist – not unlike the hotel itself.
