With a rows of quaint white wooden tables set up on ancient cobblestones, renowned Ibiza restaurant La Oliva has been presiding over the lively main square of Dalt Vila since 1986. Open nightly from 6.30pm, the extensive menu offers modern, fresh and healthy cuisine with traditional Mediterranean and Asiatic touches, run by born and bred Ibiza restaurateur Lisa Salle.
Start with a light octopus carpaccio with creamy avocado tartar or the delicate tuna sashimi with marinated salmon and zingy wasabi celery. Gratinated mussels with garlic, parsley and cheese are also firm favourites, as are Fine Claire oysters.
The culinary creativity continues throughout the main menu, where risotto is served paella-style, a lobster linguine packs a flavour filled punch and delectable turbot is given a lemongrass twist. Meat lovers are in for a treat with a heavenly rack of lamb, juicy chicken ballotine and the restaurant’s signature Iberico pork pluma with ginger honey and lime.
After dinner, tuck into a fluffy homemade macaroon or cross the cobblestones to Le Bar – La Oliva’s amazing cocktail lounge where mixologists mix up classics and bespoke drinks, plus serve an impressive wine list boasting a selection of hard-to-find French drops.
