Pro Ibiza make-up artists Corina Smith and Sara Muhammad of Smack Ibiza are the on-island experts when it comes to applying perfect eyeliner – weekly gigs using their graphic skills on dancers at Cocoon puts them in good stead for creating amazing ‘real life’ eyeliner looks. SMACK IBIZA TOP EYELINER TIPS
1. Use a big mirror instead of a hand held
2. If you want to extend and add a ‘flick’, the trick is to start from the outer corner and work inwards.
3. Try before you buy! There are so many different types of eyeliners on offer from gel to pens. See what type works best for you.
There are many ways eyeliner can change and enhance your look, and it’s a speedy way to quickly update your look from day to night. Depending on your eye shape there is liner for everyone.
Eyeliner can be used to correct and define the eyes as well as opening and flattering. For example for smaller eye shapes use a thinner liner to open up, while deep set eyes work on the outer edges only to open.
There is also ‘invisible’ liner – applied using a dark shadow and fine brush, lightly dust in-between your lashes as so it doesn’t look like you are wearing liner but naturally defines and opens the eyes. You can also wet your brush and use eyeshadow to create a liner that is in between a soft shadow liner and a gel graphic one.
There is a lot of fun to be had with experimenting with eyeliner and even using different coloured gel liners can be creative and match your outfit. More ‘graphic’ eyeliner looks are best created with a gel liner – we love Black Track by MAC. This can be extended to add a feline flick when you’re feeling extra sexy!
