Famous for a menu chock-full of luxe MediterrAsian menu items, some may think it’s hard to settle on a choice at Bambuddha, so plentiful is the bounty on offer! But when you’ve tasted the succulent scallops pan-seared in butter with fresh basil, charred sweetcorn, sous-vide baby vegetables, smoked Ibiza sea salt, and crispy lotus root, it’s hard to go back… An ethereal and complex balance between earth and sea.
There’s roast chicken, and then there’s the Babylon Beach Ibiza roast chicken – 1.5 kilo chooks (choose between a half or whole portion, perfect for sharing with a side of triple cooked fries) that have been brined for 12 hours then marinated and vaporised in an oven, before being slowly cooked on a rotisserie. Full of flavour, the most moist and tender chicken you’ll ever taste, and just another example of the behind the scenes passion for quality at this amazing Ibiza beach restaurant.
There are Burrata salads on many a menu here in Ibiza… and then there is the Cotton Beach Club Burrata Salad! One of the most mouth-wateringly good combinations of lush, creamy Burrata cheese flown in from Italy and a plate of heirloom tomatoes – no two days will be exactly the same, as chef Marcelo selects only the best from farmer’s each morning, but all will be fresh and ripe – topped with basil, nuts and oregano… Simply incredible.
When your chef is Argentinian (and proud!), it goes without saying that the star dish on your menu is a classic cut of Argentinian beef, and at Ocean Beach Ibiza, chef Luciano Scardaccione‘s take on traditional steak doesn’t fail to satisfy! Served on a hearty chunk of potato gratin and drizzled with foie gras sauce, there’s nothing quite like savouring the flavour of that first bite…
One of the highlights of the new Mediterranean-infused gastronomic menu at Atzaro Beach in 2014 is the locally caught Ibiza or Formentera fish,’rotja’, delivered fresh to the restaurant on a daily basis from trusted fishermen. Cooked slowly to perfection in the oven and served with potatoes, green pepper and avocado, it is a traditional style paying homage to the restaurant’s heritage.
BEACHOUSE Ibiza head chef Sebastiano Altimari knows a thing or two about serving succulent meats – born in Italy, but raised in Argentina and having traveled all around the globe tasting and trying the local delights wherever he goes. So when he suggests you try the sweet rack of New Zealand lamb – served up with homemade tomato pesto and creamy mashed potato, you listen. You order. You indulge, and you enjoy…
Traditional Lebanese Sambousek are one of the star attractions on the menu at Patchwork, the rooftop restaurant above Sa Punta and when you taste them you’ll know why… it’s love at first bite! A buttery pastry filled with deliciously flavoured ground lamb or melt-in-your-mouth cheese, perfect for dipping and sharing – the problem is, they’re so good, one portion isn’t always enough!
If plump and perfectly grilled scallops topped with green mango and shiso mayonnaise, served on a bed of fresh, vibrantly green asparagus sounds like a dream dinner to you, then Sa Punta Ibiza should be at the top of your hot list of Ibiza restaurants! Delightful, and deliciously decadent!
One of head chef Javier Fabo’s custom creations from the beautiful La Veranda Night Restaurant in Atzaro is the light and tasty monkfish, served atop of toasted homemade bread smeared with lush, ripe avocado, then topped with a citrusy lemon alioli before being placed under a grill for the finishing, crispy touch. A great starter to share or a light meal for a hot summer night.
Looking a little more like King Kong’s colourful girlfriend, the enormous raw salad – dubbed the King Kong Salad by creator Lana Love – served up at Passion Santa Eulalia and Passion Marina is, quite simply, jaw dropping! Arriving to your table in an enormous bamboo bowl, chock-full with an abundance of greens, avocado, cucumber, green peppers, seeds, sesame, sprouts, quinoa, spirulina chips, raw crackers and a delicious dressing! Do we hear you roar?
