Orchestrating the perfect dinner menu at an Ibiza wedding or special event is no mean feat – you need the knowledge and know-how to cook (sometimes) hundreds of dishes, to perfection, as it’s the catering that keeps people talking! Ibiza catering experts Samos Catering have got it down to a fine art, with their classic fillet steak with Ibicencan rosemary, served with home made pesto, gnocchi and glazed mini onions… among many other delicious offerings!
The classic beach favourite burger has been given a major flavour update by the chefs at Ushuaia Beach Club Restaurant for 2014, thanks to a deluxe, handmade Kobe beef pattie, dripping with lush melted cheese atop mixed greens and a fresh slice of tomato. There’s no fuss here, just simple, classic flavours made from the finest possible ingredients… served alongside a crisp mixed salad and crunchy French fries, it’s the perfect meal to order from your sun lounger or dine in style on the beautiful terrace!
Five star fusion cuisine is the menu concept at beautiful Dalt Vila restaurant Kyupiddo Ibiza by B.For, where Japanese ingredients are given the Mediterranean treatment resulting in some truly magical plates. The star dish – according to head chef Emilse Garcia – is the beautifully presented filet of San Pedro – a fish that has been sautéed with mushrooms, topped with foie gras and cream of shiitake mushrooms, then sprinkled with flaked almonds – a taste sensation unike any other.
No Ibiza holiday experience is complete without tucking into a delicious paella on the beach, and beautiful Cala Nova restaurant Atzaro Beach provides the perfect setting. Not only that – the deluxe paella is served ‘blind’, meaning all the shells and bones have been removed so you don’t have to worry about gettin your fingers sticky and can get straight down to the business of enjoying your lunch!
Behind the scenes at Babylon Beach Restaurant is a passionate team of foodies, chefs and farmers dedicated to giving you the best dining experience in Ibiza. From cultivating their own vegetables, pickling their own cucumbers and developing unique smoky tastes and flavours within their chargrill oven, ecah dish has had a lot of love and passion put into its creation long before it reaches the plate.
The Thai Rare Beef Salad is one such dish – chock full of zingy flavours, seasoned with Nam Pak fish sauce and garden-fresh herbs, with ultra-soft beef that has been seared at 400-degrees before joining the veggies on the plate!
A day on the beach can build up some serious appetites, which is why Cotton Beach Club offer the seriously delicious option of a deluxe sirloin steak, fresh from the Brazilian style barbeque grill, topped with a spicy green pepper sauce and over a piece of grilled pienapple – a traditional Brazilian touch from chef Marcelo Eufrosino Rodrigues (who says it helps ease the digestion of the meat – you can thank him later) – and with a puree of mushrooms and yucca as a side. Guaranteed to please…
Summer and salads go hand in hand, and Hotel Es Vive restaurant Deco head chef Juan Dechecco has created one of the tastiest creations… with a little kick! The deliciously delicate flavour of soft shell crab is fused with tomato, diced granny smith apples, crispy lettuce and red onion, then served with a spicy tomato dressing – perfect to share as a starter, or as a deluxe main dish you’ll be talking about long after the holiday is over (all the more reason to book your return ticket!).
Wild sea bass, avocado, citrus fruit and coriander – mmmyum! The Wild Sea Bass Ceviche at Sa Punta by Rita & Rodolphe provides the perfect zingy, zesty blend for a hot summer night in Ibiza, light, fresh and chock-full of flavours. Whether you order as a starter to share, or as your very own main course, we can pretty much guaranteed that you’ll finish every last morsel, so tasty is this take on Peruvian tradition.
While the thought of a beach cantina might conjure up images of burritos, roast chicken and fries*, there’s one culinary-minded cantina here in Ibiza who spares a thought for the health conscious, vegans and vegetarians in our midst! Babylon Beach Cantina‘s deluxe Superfood Salad boasts quinoa, chia seeds, mushrooms, algae, lots of root vegetables plucked straight from the restaurant’s own organic farm, and is served with a very mild curry vinaigrette, adding it a real flavour sensation – like a health food store in a bowl!
*OK, so we’ll admit – Babylon Beach Cantina also serves all of the above – damn good burritos, roast chickens and fries too, but for the purposes of this article, we’re singing the praises of the damn good salad!
A poached egg and a glass of wine at Agroturismo Atzaro? How very decadent! As a matter of fact, it’s not a glamorous brunch dish – this slow-poached egg, cooked at a very low temperature and served on top of soft, sliced potatoes and topped with crispy onions and truffle vinaigrette is actually a very traditional Spanish dinner option, served as a hearty starter for those with big appetites! You’ll find it on the menu at La Veranda Night Restaurant (previously known as The Orange Tree), alongside many other delectable twists on tradition to tempt all taste buds.
