While most people are talking about opening parties at this time of year, there’s one event getting ready to celebrate its winter closing! It’s time to say goodbye to the Rock Nights residency at Pacha for another year, and the final extravaganza takes place on Monday April 30, 2012, with DJs Colin Peters and Cassette Jam on the decks and Surf ‘n’ Roll themed visual shows, pin-up girls, decoration and much more.
The Rock Nights crew takes over the hallowed dance floor and DJ booth at Pacha once again in February, this time to celebrate the annual Carnival festivities. As always with Rock Nights, dress code is of utmost importance – this time get your comic book heroes and villains get-ups ready! Nasty Mondays and Colin Peters provide the musical soundtrack, with visuals by Raul Moya and Marcos Torres.
It’s kind of like the night before Christmas in Spain on January 5, as the Three Kings deliver gifts to the little ones the day… In Pacha however, it’s a ‘50s rock and roll themed Christmas party, as Rock Nights take over the venue a la Grease! Girls, don your best Pink Lady outfit and guys, think T-Birds and you’ve got the dress code covered. For the rest of the month, Pacha remains open on Saturday nights, with resident DJs bringing the beats.
The Rock Nights crew returns to Pacha on Monday, celebrating the eve of a holiday here in Ibiza with an OTT Burlesque Cabaret themed party inspired by Moulin Rouge. Guest DJs The Warriors join Rock Nights resident Colin Peters and the Rock Nights Girls and there will also be a visual exhibition, Venus in Furs.
One of the many things I love about Halloween in Ibiza is that I feel like I can get away with saying and doing almost anything, because no one knows your identity! There’s something about being in costume – and indeed, in character – that gives you a sense of freedom and courage, though I guess all the cocktails consumed may have something to do with that too! A funny thing happened on the way to the Café Mambo closing…
You see, at the end of the season (and by this I mean post-DC10 closing party), you’d expect to be enjoying some quality downtime. A quiet night in with a DVD. Civilised dinners with friends. But no. Not this Saturday night. Why? Because not only was iconic sunset institution Café Mambo throwing their closing party, but the lovely folk from Rock Nights were also putting on a very special party at Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes Hotel! Halloween Creatures and Dead Rockstars? Sounds like Rock Nights are back in the house at Pacha Ibiza, with their winter opening party falling on the spookiest night of the year. Watch as the club and its dancers take on ghoulish proportions, to the sounds of DJs Colin Peters, Lurbe & Hosen from the witching hour of midnight through til dawn… This is one Halloween party that’s guaranteed to ROCK!
