With the arrival of the 2016 summer season comes the arrival of a steady stream of new collections at TANIS Ibiza, the beautiful Ibiza interior design showroom set just off the main road from Ibiza to Santa Gertrudis (turn left when you spot a bright orange starfish on the road sign). One such collection is this stunning set of artisanal crockery, which came all the way to Ibiza from Belgium only to meet its maker. Not in that sense – it was a more literal interpretation. “Funnily enough,” explains TANIS Ibiza owner and interior designer Tatjana Berger-Sandhofer when asked about the beautiful tableware. “The other day the artist who made it came into the shop with another regular client of ours and couldn’t believe we had her crockery!” It just goes to show that like attracts like, style attracts style.

Of course, beautiful tableware such as this – includeing dinner plates, side plates, bowls, cups and more in earthy muted colours, cornflower blues and slate grey, in keeping with the TANIS Ibiza aesthetic – is the finishing touch. While the shelves are indeed stocked with glossy china and many other decorative pieces available off the rack (so to speak in style terms), the TANIS Ibiza service goes beyond pure decoration. Alongside partner Nick Lording, Tatjana offers a complete interior (and exterior) design service, from the very first sketch, mood board or swatch of fabric, right through to the carpets being laid, the curtains being hung and the tables being set. And beyond, as they’re also always available for future consultations as summer turns to winter.
