Ibiza villas: Top 5 cool pools

Swimming pools are paramount when it comes to luxury Ibiza villas – being able to wake up and go for a swim before breakfast is the best way to start your holiday day. White Ibiza Villas Director Emma Thomson says not all swimming pools are created equal – and she should know, spending her days inspecting, testing and recommending some of the finest properties on the island. Here, she shares a selection of Ibiza villas equipped with truly cool pools – all with limited availability remaining in 2018. It’s never too late to splash out on a late summer holiday!

#1. Can Lyra

Sometimes the size and scale of a swimming pool can be hard to judge in photos, but Emma says the reason she loves the pool at Can Lyra is because it’s just so big! Great for those who love to do laps, or who want multiple inflatables for those Instagram moments – good news for families is that there’s also a second, smaller kids’ pool adjacent to the main one, meaning you can keep your eyes on the little ones while enjoying your own time in the water.

#2. C’Anouch

“Not many pools here are heated like this one,” says Emma of the stunning swimming pool at C’Anouch in Cala Jondal. “And not many have those views!” With breath-taking views over what is undoubtedly one of the island’s most iconic views and plenty of sun loungers and oversized bean beds from which to take them in, it’s easy to imagine long summer days and extended evenings by this pool. The season gets extended at this villa thanks to the heated pool – it’s popular with retreat groups and families in spring and autumn too.

#3. Aloe Valley

Set on the lower level of terraced gardens in the heart of a lush green valley, the swimming pool at Aloe Valley boasts a private clubhouse type feel. “It feels like you’re a million miles away from anywhere,” says Emma. “It’s like your own private oasis surrounded by palm trees and with colourful, cool Tiki styling.” With its own built-in bar area, plenty of bench-style sofa seating, single day beds, a Balinese chill out hut and a dining area, it’s hard to imagine ever wanting to leave – even if the weather drops, the pool is heated so you can take the plunge and keep swimming!

#4. Can Zama

Even when your villa is in close proximity to the beach like Can Zama, the luxury of having your own pool means morning dips can easily be taken at home rather than having to bundle up your family and friends for a short drive. “The infinity pool at Can Zama is amazing,” says Emma. “It’s got the comfiest sun loungers I’ve ever tried and it’s surrounded by SONOS speakers, so you can pipe your favourite music around the pool.” The views from the pool deck are also impressive – lush pine forests and the haze of the Med on the horizon.

#5. Villa Cruz

Emma describes Villa Cruz as the ultimate family villa thanks to its glass fenced, child-proof swimming pool. “Parents can relax knowing the kids are safe with the pool safely surrounded by a glass fence,” she says. Despite the fact the villa is set on the island’s west coast, close to some of the most renowned beaches, restaurants, cafes and sunset viewing spots, once you’ve dived into that pool it’s going to be hard to drag yourself away…
