Can Tru

Orange clementines and bright yellow lemons hang heavily amongst the scented pine trees and neon pink bougainvillea that envelops the dazzling white of Can Tru. Nestled in the hillside between San Rafael and San Antonio, this restored finca was once an olive press. The interiors are a soothing celebration of tradition and modernity, with eclectic treasures from Bali, London and Morocco placed against organic materials and soft muted shades.

With a playground, a swimming pool that can be heated at an extra cost and lots of outside chill-out and dining areas, Can Tru offers your family a haven in the heart of the islands countryside whilst still being close enough to the quiet villages of San Rafael and Santa Gertrudis or the buzz of Ibiza town.

Bedrooms & bathrooms

Two of the bedrooms are located within the main house whilst three bedrooms are found in the old olive press. Elegant herringbone wooden floors feature in all the bedrooms, juxtaposed against the traditional thick cavernous walls of the ancient finca.

Bedroom 1: Just off the kitchen and is a great room for your children as it has two single beds and is interconnected to Bedroom 2. This room can also be turned into a double on request. This room shares a large bathroom with Bedroom 2.
Bedroom 2: Whilst this room is interconnected to Bedroom 1, the privacy settings come in the guise of the door to Bedroom 1 and the curtains between the corridors.
Bedroom 3: Situated in the old olive press downstairs, this room has its own en-suite. African art and vintage Moroccan furniture create a subtle and chic global style statement.
Bedroom 4: Situated in the old olive press, upstairs, this room shares a large bathroom with Bedroom 5. Two singles make up this room but can on request be transformed to a double.
Bedroom 5: Situated in the old olive press, upstairs, this room shares a large bathroom with bedroom 4. Raw organic materials create a soothing vibe in this room.

Interior

Hand-baked terracotta tiles look up to twisted wooden beams, gently reminding you of Can Tru’s roots. Renovated to an exceptional spec, this country home features underfloor heating throughout for the colder winter days. Designed with a reverence to the past and a love of all things exotic by the design maestros at KsaR Living, the open-plan living area is elegant yet functional. Following an L-shape, there are two cleverly zoned off seating areas. 

A rustic style wooden table flanked by a stylish collection of chairs adds to the global chic aesthetic. Just around the corner is another seated area, allowing your younger family members the privacy to huddle up away from the curious eyes and ears of the grown-ups, yet still within necessary reach.
Cleverly mismatched tiles give off subtle pops of colour in the beautifully hand-crafted kitchen, which has a perfect size family breakfast bar to keep the food flowing. 

Outdoors

The grounds are rich, fertile and alive with flora such as oleander flowers, giant aloe vera, pine and olive trees. Pick your own oranges, lemons and even grapefruits from the orchard. Large Balinese day beds provide horizontal comfort around the pool, which can be heated upon request (for an additional fee). For mealtimes, an outdoor pizza oven and barbecue are just two ways to prepare your food Mediterranean style. Choose from either of the two shaded areas to take a seat with friends and family for easy alfresco living.
