  • The closest beach to Casa Amalia is Sa Caleta, which is fantastic for families thanks to its short strip of sand and shallow waters that seem to go on for miles. Be sure to walk over the rocks to the secluded cove of Es Bol Nou, where you can scrape the rich, red clay from the cliffside and use it as a body mask. And don’t leave without sampling the signature Café Caleta from Restaurante Sa Caleta on the clifftop – a boozy coffee that’s lit on fire before you drink it. It’s also amazing for fresh seafood, paella and other traditional ibicenco rice dishes.

  • You can’t miss taking in a sunset overlooking Es Vedra, one of the island’s most iconic, and mysterious landmarks – famed as the most energetic point on the island. The best lookout points, La Torre d’es Savinar (an ancient pirate tower) or the beautiful beach of Cala d’Hort are both within a short, and beautiful, drive from the villa. You’ll have to hike an extra 10 minutes to the tower but it’s so worth it!

  • Es Cubells – a quaint local village not far from the villa – is a must-visit, thanks to its charming white church, cool kids’ play area with incredible sea views and authentic local restaurants. We love the homemade tapas and typical Spanish cuisine at the family run, frontline Bar Llumbi, from lunchtime through sunset and while the stars twinkle in the Balearic night skies above. For even more amazing seafood, take the winding cliffside dirt road past the church down to Ses Boques – many say they serve the best paella and lamb chops in Ibiza.

  • Hip organic supermarket and farm-to-table restaurant Cas Costas is close to Casa Amalia and is the perfect place to stop off for your morning coffee, a lazy lunch, beach picnic supplies, fresh produce for the kitchen from its onsite vegetable patch or divine dinners beneath the stars.

  • The south coast of Ibiza is known for its amazing people watching, and there are plenty of hotspots right near the villa. On the pebbly beach of Cala Jondal is world famous beach Blue Marlin in addition to some of our other all-time favourite places like Tropicana Ibiza and Yemanja. Alternatively, head to the beaches of Es Torrent and Es Xarcu, where the eponymously named chiringuitos serve up super fresh fish to locals and the jet-set who arrive via yacht.
