Five more reasons to stay

  1. 1

The south coast of Ibiza is known for its amazing people watching, and there are plenty of hotspots right near the villa. On the pebbly beach of Cala Jondal is world famous beach Blue Marlin in addition to some of our other all-time favourite places like Tropicana Ibiza and Yemanja. Alternatively, head to the beaches of Es Torrent and Es Xarcu, where the eponymously named chiringuitos serve up super fresh fish to locals and the jet-set who arrive via yacht.

  2. 2

Head a little further west to bask in the sun on rocks at Punta Galera – know to locals as ‘the flat rocks’. Jumping off the rocks into the crystal-clear water is an Ibiza rite of passage, and perfect for those who don’t like sand. There are no restaurants or bathroom facilities at this rugged location, but if you’re lucky you’ll also find someone mixing up mojitos or selling cold beer and soft drinks from a cool box. When you’re done for the day, head to the neighbouring beach of Cala Gracioneta for dinner at the eponymously named chiringuitos, or a little bit further to Hostal La Torre to take in the sunset before heading home.

  3. 3

The largest village of the south, San José, is a zippy ten-minute drive from the villa, where you can take your pick of restaurants, bars, delis and boutiques. There’s a larger supermarket called Hipercentro in this area but before you spent valuable holiday time pushing around shopping trolleys, remember White Ibiza can coordinate your personalised shopping list to be delivered and unpacked at Casa Estrella before you arrive, or at any time during your stay.

  4. 4

When you’re ready to take a break from pool days and beach life, we recommend taking a pre-sunset stroll through the petite village of Santa Agnes. Tuck into the famous tortilla at Can Cosmi, before heading up the winding hill to discover the locals’ secret sunset spot, Las Puertas del Cielo. Translating to ‘the gates of heaven’, the name of this rustic clifftop shack (which serves up fabulous grilled meats and fish) is incredibly apt – the jaw-dropping views are like nothing else in Ibiza.

  5. 5

Back towards the west coast, Cala Conta beach is yet another truly authentic Ibiza experience. Spend the day lazing on the golden sands and swimming in the turquoise sea, then be sure to visit the bohemian surrounds of Sunset Ashram for sunset. In high summer, reservations are always essential as the front row seats to the sunset are in such high demand, but the views, the Asian fusion menu and the laid-back Balearic soundtrack are all worth the effort.
