San Lorenzo, North East, Ibiza, Spain
Named after the unusual and ancient settlement of Balafia, this charming villa is the perfect melding of modernity and tradition. Based on the ancient cubic style, Villa Balafia has a contemporary ambience based on an antique soul. Peaceful and romantic, it is the perfect Ibiza villa to escape daily life and enjoy all the island has to offer.
Large wooden doors, traditional archways and a neutral colour palette beautifully compliment smooth white washed walls and sun filled spaces. The original farmhouse structure has retained many of its subtle features such as beamed ceiling and covered porches. A sensitive refurbishment has seen modern additions, which recall the old ways. Stone tiles, arched floor to ceiling windows and wood finishes reflect the ancient and traditional style of the island while lending a modern take. Spacious, light filled and furnished with a balanced mix of contemporary and rustic pieces, Villa Balafia channels pure Ibiza style.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
Six double bedrooms, five of which contain ensuites plus a shared family style bathroom accommodates up to 12 people. Bedrooms are furnished with plush double beds, upholstered headboards, eclectic furniture and original art. Villa Balafia is supremely comfortable and boasting glass doors leading to the terraces or gardens.
A double-sided glass enclosed fireplace delineates the living spaces at Villa Balafia. On one side is a massive L-shaped white sofa and on the other is a large wood ten seat dining table. French doors open to the terrace area while windows on either side allow the sunlight to stream in. The dining area leads to the galley style kitchen fitted with all the necessary appliances. Another living room features on the upper level with gorgeous views across the countryside.
The villa boasts various private terraces and suntraps coming of the bedrooms. The lounge and dining area leads out to a covered porch furnished with comfy hand carved wood sofas. From there the pool glistens, surrounded by double daybeds with parasols. Alongside the pool is a second kitchen and dining area that is at once inside and yet completely open to the outside areas.
Things to do

San Juan is arguably the capital of the north and has an eclectic artisan market on Sundays that’s worth checking out.
