For many people, the love affair with Ibiza never ends and in the case of UK-born, Dubai-based couple Chloe and Thomas, it was a case of – once bitten, twice smitten. Each had fallen in love with the white isle previously and then in 2009, while Chloe was holidaying with friends and Tom was working the summer season, they fell in love again – this time with each other.

Fast forward to 2014 and the financial trader and semi-permanent make-up specialist found themselves back on the island, when Tom booked a surprised weekend away. In a surprise romantic move, he chartered a private yacht and when the time was right – and the boat was just off the coast of Formentera – he popped the question. Naturally, Chloe’s response was yes.

With a history already so intertwined with the island, Ibiza was the obvious choice when it was time to choose the destination for the wedding, however when it came to finding the right church and venue, they enlisted the expert services of wedding planner Kerry-Anne Winton of Ibiza Wedding, who listened to their brief for a ‘crisp, white and minimalist’ reception location and steered them into the perfect surrounds of Cotton Beach Club in Cala Tarida.

For the Catholic ceremony, the couple chose the seafront church of Es Cubells – a place with a backdrop so beautiful it could be something out of a fairytale. “Cotton Beach Club ticked all the boxes for our kind of theme and the views were incredible,” says Chloe. “We loved the church too – so beautiful and more amazing views!”

With the date set and the venues locked down, the next step was finding the perfect photographer to preserve their precious memories. Born and bred island photographer Gypsy Westwood came highly recommended by friends living on the island and their wedding planner alike, and the decision was made. Then, the countdown to the big day was on…

While Tom – looking dapper in a Burberry suit – patiently waited at the altar for his bride-to-be, Chloe was being beautified by a make-up artist she’d flown in for the occasion from Dubai: Hannah Brooke Artistry. Once her floor-skimming Adam Shaw gown and Valentino shoes were on, a vintage Rolls Royce ferried her to the church where she walked down the aisle with not a dry eye in the house.

After the obligatory confetti was thrown over the newlyweds, they were whisked off for their wedding portraits with Gypsy while guests were transported to the stunning beach of Cala Tarida along a long, winding road that truly allowed them to appreciate the beauty of Ibiza – inland and along the coast.

“Cotton Beach Club was the perfect choice for us,” says Chloe at the memory of arriving to her reception. Perched above the white sands of the stunning south-western beach, with only the dashing views of the turquoise-blue Mediterranean interrupting the chic and stylish white interior decoration and floral arrangements, it truly is a wedding venue dreams are made of.

Dress code for guests was black tie and formal, setting a striking scene as the bride and groom strode into the venue as man and wife. After a selection of canapés washed down with cava sangria – the bride’s personal favourite cocktail – guests were seated for dinner and speeches as the dramatic sunset began before their eyes. Catering came courtesy of the expert Cotton Beach Club chefs, a Mediterranean fusion menu, topped off with the groom’s favourite dessert – apple pie.

After the formalities, the party truly began and guests hit the dance floor to the sounds of a resident DJ with special guest Anastasia McQueen on saxophone. Tucked away in the restaurant’s interior was the hidden treasure – a grown-up’s fancy dress chest – and needless to say, much fun was had by all and it proved to be the perfect end to a phenomenal day.

While eventually the wedding had to come to an end, it certainly wasn’t the end of the couple’s love affair with Ibiza. We chose Ibiza because it has so many happy memories with friends and it’s the place we met,” explains Chloe. “Now it holds even more of a special place in our hearts.”

After honeymooning on the white isle for a week, Chloe and Tom Ibiza headed off for more glamorous adventures in Sorrento, Capri, the Amalfi Coast, Monaco, Antibes, and the Maldives, although once they arrived back in Dubai they immediately began planning their return trip to Ibiza for 2018.
