Getting married on a private island in the Mediterranean sounds like the plot of a Hollywood blockbuster, but for Jenny and Philipp, it was an Ibiza wedding reality. The late summer of 2017 saw them invite their nearest and dearest to the private island of Tagomago, off the east coast of Ibiza, for a luxurious bohemian ceremony and reception that would indeed have been worthy of a film production. “We chose Tagomago because it is unique,” says Jenny. “Usually you can’t rent the island for private events, but we managed to get an exception so we decided to do it.”

After a whirlwind romance from the day they met in 2015 (“It was love at first sight!” confirms Jenny), the couple – who met through mutual friends – were engaged within six months and married after one year. Islands are a recurring theme in their relationship, with Philipp proposing to Jenny on New Year’s Eve over sunset on a beach in the Caribbean. “It was very romantic,” she says of the experience.

From that moment, the wedding planning began and Jenny enlisted the expert services of premier Ibiza wedding planner Kerry Anne Winton of Ibiza Wedding. “I’ve been visiting the island for vacations my entire life,” explains Jenny of her love for the Balearics. “Philipp loves it too.” The couple selected island photographer Gypsy Westwood to capture the magic of the day. “We’re so happy we chose her,” says Jenny. “She took the most unforgettable pictures.”

As editor of a glossy women’s magazine, Jenny knows a thing or two about style and her impeccable taste was echoed throughout the entire event from start to finish. Beautifully bohemian, brimming with class and with a laidback yet luxurious ambience, the glamorous wedding encapsulated the spirit of Ibiza. Under the watchful eye of Danielle Hodgson Lindley of island event styling agency Velvet Circus, Jenny’s vision came to life like a dream come true.

Guests were ferried across to the island of Tagomago by private boat, where they were treated to an extensive selection of cocktails on arrival (“We created a big cocktail menu with something to suit everyone’s taste,” explains Jenny) as they took in the magical views and settled in for the luxurious day and night ahead. Surrounded by turquoise sea, bright blue skies and lush green countryside with views of Ibiza in the distance, the location was nothing less than paradisiacal.

Meanwhile, Jenny was preparing for her big day in a beautiful villa high in the hills of Ibiza’s northwest coast, with in-demand hair and make-up artist Louise Maxwell creating a relaxed, natural bohemian look complete with flower crown to complement Jenny’s stunning Pronovias dress and Charlotte Olympia shoes. The groom wore a bespoke suit by tailor Simon Scottowe, looking every bit the dashing companion for his style siren bride.

As the glorious golden sunlight cast a warm glow over the wedding party, Jenny and Philipp said ‘I do’ in a modern spiritual ceremony with Jean Michell Fueter of Ceremonibiza, as guests kept their cool with the customised fans that had been left on each seat for the occasion. Afterwards, all attention turned to the poolside formal dining area, where iconic on-island restaurants Casa Colonial served up a deluxe fusion themed menu including paella, slow-cooked beef fillet, stewed knuckle of lamb and homemade truffle ravioli, followed by an enormous heart shaped wedding cake topped with fresh raspberries.

Following the wedding, the newlyweds have been taking regular trips to Ibiza, completing the Ibiza wedding fairytale, where they went on to live happily ever after…
