It was a beautiful summer day when Leah Walsh and Nick Van Dooren tied the knot and whispered ‘I do’ at gorgeous countryside wedding venue Agroturismo Atzaró. The lovebirds were no strangers to Ibiza, having fallen for the island’s magic long before the nuptials. “We’ve been coming over for quite a while now,” recalls Leah. “There is something about Ibiza that is simply magical. It makes us happy, at ease and we love the vibe of the island.”

The couple – a UK-born dancer and Dutch music producer respectively –  instinctively knew Ibiza would be the perfect choice for their celebration of love and wanted to showcase the many amazing layers their special Mediterranean island had to offer. “We wanted to share the way we feel about Ibiza with our closest family and friends,” says Leah. “We wanted to take them on our little Ibiza journey.”

Being based in Dubai meant a pair of eyes and ears would be needed on the ground in Ibiza, so when it came time to plan the summer celebrations from abroad, the pair enlisted island wedding professionals, Ma Chérie Weddings Ibiza, to design and plan the event. “Once we gave them a rough idea of the type of venue we wanted, they led is to the perfect one right away,” Leah says.

The majestic grounds of Agroturismo Atzaró were transformed into an elegant, stylish and chic paradise taken right out of a Balearic fairytale. “We wanted to choose somewhere that was central for people travelling,” explains Leah. “Atzaró had the right mix of attractions for everyone so it could be a holiday for our guests that everyone got to enjoy.”

Through word of mouth, in-demand Ibiza wedding photography company Ana Lui Studio had come highly recommended to Leah and Nick. “We had a look at her portfolio and it was exactly what we were looking for,” says Leah, who then instantly enlisted the on-island team capture the day’s special moments.

And so, the magical day arrived, with blue sky as far as the eye could see and glorious Mediterranean sunshine beaming down on Leah, Nick and their guests, who hailed from all corners of the globe.

The bride wore a stunning backless lace gown by Tel Aviv haute couture designer Galia Lahav with a sweetheart neckline and transparent sleeves plus gorgeous hand-sewn lace details. It trained ever so slightly behind her and fit her like a dream. Leah finished her wedding ensemble with a pair of nude Christian Louboutin pumps and a delicate and simplistic veil.

The groom looked equally as handsome in a custom made navy blue suit and vest, accented with a grey tie and dapper camel shoes.

The ceremony took place in the great outdoors, with a blessing performed by Ibiza celebrant Melchior Arnold of Ibiza Ceremony. Mauricio Gosalvez oversaw the event’s art direction and interior design, and created the perfect balance between traditional wedding glamour and bohemian chic décor.

Gorgeous bouquets of red roses and hydrangeas dotted the table as centre pieces, with Leah’s creativity shining through some of her own décor also on the tables. The Agroturismo’s culinary team took care of catering and treated guests to a festive feast of delicious Mediterranean cuisine.

Afterwards the celebration continued with entertainment provided by a live band and DJ. Unique gifts for the bridesmaids from the bride came in the form of custom painted converse sneakers complete with the wedding date printed on them – perfect replacements for heels after a long night of dancing. “Everything was perfect,” says Leah. “We wouldn’t do anything differently!”

The entire destination wedding spanned a few days which included a barbecue the day before at a nearby beach club to acquaint all the wedding guests before the big day. Leah and Nick plan to return to Ibiza as soon as possible, as the island is now – more than ever – etched in their hearts.
