The beginnings of Miriam and Rachel’s magical Ibiza wedding experience began on the other side of the world, while the couple were holidaying in Australia. Miriam got down on one knee in the middle of an enchanted vineyard in front of her beloved Rachel and requested her hand in marriage. It was too romantic by far and from this magical proposal crossed seas, oceans and continents to be continued on the white isle.

Miriam had spent part of her childhood in Ibiza and it was an obvious wedding location for this dynamic London couple when the planning process began. “We’ve come to Ibiza every year since we met and we had a really clear idea of what we wanted, ” says Rachel. The only words to describe their shared vision were fairytale chic. “You can imagine the fun with two ladies planning a wedding together!” adds Miriam.

The pair visited the island for a reconnaissance and planning trip to iron out all the finer details of their fairytale nuptials. Alongside ever-professional event planner Tiffany Aldred, the loved-up couple chose the beautiful beach restaurant of Ses Roques on Cala Conta as their venue – the perfect complement to Rachel and Miriam’s personal style.

“Within five minutes of being there we could already picture it,” says Rachel. “It was the perfect blank canvas to create our fairytale day.” Rustic and chic, its elegant restaurant setting allows the striking nature surrounding it truly shine. If the girls wanted to show their loved ones Ibiza in all its glory, they had come to the right place. “The setting, the service and the food were second to none.”

With the venue secure, the next step in the planning process was to find the perfect Ibiza wedding photographer to capture all the day’s events – planned and spontaneous – as they unfolded. Rachel and Miriam knew there was only one person who could properly capture their special day for posterity and that was German-born, island based creative mastermind Arno Lippert.

With a portfolio filled with international models, locations and celebrities alongside stylish and sophisticated weddings alike, Arno is a consummate professional. Arno’s desire to illustrate the magical connection between the bride and bride through his editorial-style, contemporary imagery is apparent; the resulting imagery creative, sublime and very cool, with a custom vintage-esque filter that gives them an old school, glamorous feel.

With much self-control, the brides managed to keep their dresses a secret from each other until the big reveal. Designs by Justin Alexander and Ritva Westenius wholly matched the dreamlike quality of the day. Elegantly simple with just a touch of sparkle, the pair were simply stunning.

Six bridesmaids and three flower girls dazzled in gold sequin dresses alongside a best woman in a striking navy sequin jumpsuit. Five ushers and a pageboy sported navy trousers, white shirts and braces with brown brogues rounding out the super stylish bridal party.

Family and friends were accommodated at the stunning Sa Talaia Agroturismo hotel, which was taken over by the entire wedding party for the duration of the event. Set in the gorgeous natural surrounds of Es Puig, in the rolling hills of San Antonio in the island’s west, its close proximity to the venue, in addition to its intimate and chic style made it the perfect choice.

Dinners and gatherings were organised around the big day with a few surprises thrown into the mix.”We did a light show over the pool where mermaids were swimming for our welcome soiree,” says Rachel of her most memorable moment. A secret film she had organised for Miriam, featuring loved ones who were unable to make it on the day, provoked many a teary eye.

Ultra-creative stylist Danielle Hodgson-Lindley of Velvet Circus Ibiza coordinated specialised design elements, alongside Joanne Heywood of Minx FX. The beaming couple chose crisp white and shimmering gold with a hint of hot pink as their colour scheme. Gold foiled macaroons; ozone friendly balloons and musicians playing all their favourite tracks set the scene for an amazing party. “They’re both worth their weight in gold!” says Rachel of Danielle and Jo.

The famous Ibiza sunset over the glittering sea added an awe-inspiring element to an already beautiful show. A hand crafted chandelier hung from the ceiling creating a seamless transition from day to night. Grover Washington’s smooth tones ushered in the first dance with ‘Just the two of us’. “It was a magical day we wish we could relive over and over again,” concludes Rachel. Thankfully, with the work of Arno Lippert, they have the cherished memories of the big day preserved forever.
