A wedding photographer and Ibiza resident for over a decade, Adela Baraja was raised in a small village in northern Spain, where she fell in love with photography at the tender age of 14, when her father bought her first camera. She went on to study photography in Scotland, yet it was a chance encounter with another wedding photographer as the sunset over Cala Conte that inspired her to make weddings her vocation.
Adela’s forte is storytelling; with each wedding she sets to work elegantly capturing every moment of the happy couple’s day, from the very beginning, as the bride delicately slips on her wedding shoe, until the sun sets over the island, and the guests celebrate late into the balmy Mediterranean night.
Adela loves to capture natural emotion. Her images are not staged, there is no forced smiling, or fake looking into the camera; she works quietly in the background to capture real people laughing, crying, drinking and exchanging stories, in her signature clean and sophisticated style.
With the happy couple, she whisks them away between the wedding and ceremony for portraits but quickly returns them to their loved ones for the real magic moments. Praised for capturing every moment, exactly as the couple remember it, Adela shoots up to 1500 photos in her reportage style on the day, and shares all of them with her clients
