Yoga for kids

These days, the benefits of practicing yoga are well-known. Increased strength and flexibility, all-round better health and wellbeing, clarity of mind, relaxation, boosts the immune system… and the list goes on. You can start your yoga practice at any age, with any level of fitness… so why not start them young?

Here in Ibiza, Emma Nathan of PranaSol offers a variety of specialist Kids Yoga classes for Ibiza’s littlest residents and holidaymakers, giving them an early introduction to an ancient practice. “With kids, the focus is on having fun,” Emma explains. “The difference between their classes and what we know as traditional yoga classes – though there are so many limbs these days it’s hard to say what is traditional – is that they are playful. The kids get to use their imagination and creativity to a large extent and there’s a lot of co-creating and working together.”

Emma has been practicing yoga herself since 1995, and has worked with children (teaching English) for seven years, so she certainly knows a thing or two about kids and yoga! She felt a desire to do something that could combine her two passions, and completed the renowned Rainbow Kids Yoga 280-hour teacher training (in addition to a 200-hour yoga teacher training course) and began teaching kids classes here in Ibiza. “It was the perfect scenario for me,” she says.
