Weekend reading – Small spaces – WHITE Ibiza Magazine

A ONCE FORGOTTEN FINCA CORNER IS TRANSFORMED INTO LUXURIOUS SANCTUARY

There doesn’t appear to be a single architecture and design magazine or blog that has not tackled the concept of small spaces in recent years. Perhaps it’s about a collective movement towards simplifying life in an increasingly cluttered world. People are looking at small spaces with a different attitude – no longer as an afterthought to storage but more as an opportunity for sanctuary and simplicity. Jurjen van Hulzen approaches small spaces with the mind of an architect and designer who raised three children in a tiny apartment in Amsterdam. When he moved his family to Ibiza, he looked at the shabby storage room next to his new home with an eye that caught the potential for more than a broom closet.
