Mercado Viejo, which translates to the ‘old market’, is the location of the ancient market place of Ibiza where islanders have been coming for millennia to buy and sell their wares.
Today it’s known for its fresh and organic local produce including flowers, olive oil, wine and handmade baskets plus handmade goodies like chocolate, cheese and cakes. Well worth a wander before heading up the drawbridge to sightsee in Dalt Vila.
