While there are an array of San Juan fiesta events taking place across the island on Thursday, there’s something to be said for heading to the northern town named for its patron saint, where authenticity and folklore fuse with music, fun, festivities and of course, food. Take part in the annual ritual of jumping the fires in the village before dancing in the square to the sounds of live music by the Brand New Hippies and a Flower Power set by DJ Domi Pastor. And the best place to stop and refuel after the action is The Giri Cafe, set in pride of place in the main village square. Table reservations highly recommended.
