Zines, handbound books and Ibizan culture workshop

Puppeteer, artist, folklorist and founder of Theatre of the Ancients Joanna Hruby teams up with Rachel Weschke at Vessel Studio Ibiza for a one-of-a-kind journey through the world of zines. Taking a socio-historical punk view of the past, present and future mythologies of Ibiza these monthly Sunday sessions will guide makers in the art of alternative self-expression.

The zine is a symbol of counter-culture communication and these workshops use the medium to explore notions of freedom, globalisation, paganism, tourism and consumerism. Materials and a vegetarian lunch are included in the 45€ session fee and a variety of techniques from collage, drawing, stencilling and book binding will guide participants towards their very own publication. The course culminates at a stall in the Vara de Rey as part of the Día de Sant Jorge book fair on April 23, 2023.
