Carnival

A favourite fixture on the Ibiza calendar each year is Carnival, when each of the island’s major towns and villages host colourful street parades, live music, and lots of eating and drinking as is the custom before the official start of Lent.

After weeks of preparation, San José and Ibiza town both celebrate Carnival on Saturday February 10, 2024, with the village kicking off from 11.30am and the capital’s version starting at 5pm. Expect to see a few fabulous floats featuring in both while the streets are lined with schools, dance troupes, performance groups and musical talent, all transformed with fantastical themes and costumes, and coordinated in movement and music.

Santa Eulalia and San Antonio carnivals take place on Tuesday February 13, 2024, from 5pm, so there’s still plenty of time to get your costume ready and join in the fun.
