Finally! The end is nigh… the end of August – obvs. September is so close I can practically smell it… and funnily enough, here at White Ibiza HQ, our deadline pressure is actually easing off for the first time since March (shh! don’t tell the boss!) and we’re finally getting some time to take our lily white computer-tanned skins into the sunshine and enjoy spending time in some of the amazing places we’ve been writing about all summer! The all-new Lebanese restaurant concept on the rooftop of stylish Ibiza restaurant Sa Punta is exactly what Ibiza has been waiting for! Patchwork‘s modern-meets-traditional menu is laidback, casual, designed to share and above all… delicious! For those who can’t pick just one platter, may we suggest the Mezze Completo – a combination dish with a selection of the best tapas tastes, including hummus, baba ghanouj, falafel, khiar bi labanm tabouleh, kibbe and samboussek.
The Patchwork kitchen is open from 8pm until 2am, meaning you can satisfy sunset cravings or midnight munchies alike!
Kama Sushi is an über-cool cocktail and sushi lounge, situated on the San Antonio sunset strip. Open until 1am, highly-trained chefs slice and dice a variety of the freshest sashimi, nigiri, uramaki (inside out rolls) and maki, plus an a la carte fusion menu every night throughout summer.
ituated at the very end of the world famous San Antonio sunset strip, on the ground floor of the area’s longest-standing building is a lounge bar and restaurant with a distinctly Mediterranean feel and an uninterrupted view of the sunset. Meet Mint Lounge Bar…
Crisp, white design elements combined with an open-air ambience sets Mint apart from her famous neighbours, attracting a sophisticated, multicultural crowd. The space was given its new lease of life by the renowned Anadón family (of Café Mambo fame) in 2010, however despite its proximity and relation to its iconic sister, Mint is worlds apart.
When many people think of Ibiza sunsets, they think of the island’s west coast. But those-in-the-know realise the hottest sunset ticket in town is located in the south, and thus make the bumpy dirt tracked beeline to Experimental Beach Ibiza at Cap des Falco.
Set right in heart of the Ses Salines salt flats, Experimental Beach Ibiza boasts views across the Mediterranean to the very tip of Es Vedra, a spectacular sight as the sun sinks into the horizon. Laze around on the luxe sunbeds, with a glass of rosé or a quirky punchbowl (think pineapples, coconuts and conch shells) filled with cocktails to share…
Chic, stylish and with a serious dose of cool factor, Experimental Beach Ibiza is the newest offering from the world renowned Experimental Cocktail Club from London, Paris and New York. Ibiza is the latest feather in ECC’s impressive cap, perched perfectly on the seaside at Cap des Falco and now open for lunch, sunset cocktails and dinner daily.
This week is your last chance to sample many of the fresh Mediterranean catches in Ibiza’s best restaurants, and one of our favourites is the delectable local white fish Sirvia, cooked in a delicious chilli and lime butter and served with a crunchy herb and marinated melon salad at alternative sunset restaurant Kumharas, closing for the season this Sunday.
White Ibiza recommends: King Prawn Tempura at Kumharas
Whether to share as a starter or enjoy every last bite as a main, the light-yet-crispy king prawn tempura at Kumharas is one of the house specialties. Served with a tangy Amazu Ponzu sauce, a sweet vinegar dressing with a citrus tang that enhances the flavour of the prawn, the presentation makes it seem almost too good to eat… but the aromas make it too tempting!
