Italian Fine Dining at Amalur

From 1pm – Thursday February 29, 2024

Amalur is the ideal setting in which to gather your nearest and dearest, dress up in your finest and channel the spirit of la dolce vita on sunny winter afternoons this season. Start with bespoke cocktails like the Trini Mojito or an Alcapone, then order traditional Italian fine dining dishes from the new à la carte menu – curated by chef Antonio Boriello and changing weekly throughout the off-season months. Indulge in luxe dishes like refined, handmade pasta and ravioli – both classic and contemporary – or choose Mediterranean-inspired mains from the grill. DIPEF Music Industry Sessions with José Luis Benitez at The Standard, Ibiza

Thursdays nights in winter are even more interesting as The Standard, Ibiza on Vara de Rey hosts a series of Music Industry Sessions with the Associations of DJs and Producers of Ibiza and Formentera (DIPEF) from 6.30pm each week. The who’s who of Ibiza’s vibrant music industry gather in the stylish venue to mingle, mix and share experiences through guided talks (in Spanish only), centred around exploring the future of the business on the island, and supported by the Consell d’Eivissa. This week’s session is titled ‘Leisure in Ibiza, and culture?’ – an interview between DJ David Moreno and José Luis Benitez, the spokesperson for the Association of Nightlife in Ibiza. Entry is free so just turn up, tune in and kick back amongst some like-minded souls for an enlightening evening, accompanied by some of the island’s best cocktails, and tapas too of course.

Season Re-Opening at Yalla Ibiza

After its debut summer season saw Yalla Ibiza win rave reviews from locals and visiting foodies alike, the hot new Middle Eastern fusion restaurant – created by Lana of Passion Café – is ready to return for the 2024 season after a short winter break. The stylish Santa Gertrudis restaurant now opens its doors from 12.30pm to 10pm, non-stop daily (excluding Sundays) to serve up a new winter menu brimming with dishes that exude Passion style and quality, and are fused with the flavours of Morocco, Persia, Turkey and beyond. Think Turkish eggs and coffee, fresh-baked pistachio croissants, mouth-watering baklava porridge with Moroccan mint tea, shakshuka, Fattoush salads and much more, including Máona speciality coffee for those who love their caffeine buzz. Over a ton and a half of gerret will be consumed this Saturday  in Santa Eulalia, as part of the eighth annual festival celebrating the little local fish called Fira de Gerret, that takes over the port town from 11.30am. Alongside the grilling in the streets, and the day-long live music and dancing, renowned restaurants around the Marina offer some spectacular dishes showcasing the best ways to serve this tasty little morsel, similar to a sardine, with a winner for each category announced at the end of the day. CBbC Marina Sta Eulalia joins in the merriment with two unique recipes: a gerret sticky rice, with kimchee mayo, basil and sprouts, and a deep-fried gerret furai, with lime and chive mayonnaise. Make sure you sample both so you can cast your vote fairly. Offering unparalleled harbour views, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy all the fun and flavours of the fair.

Chaos Ibiza with Los Suruba at House of WOW

7pm – Saturday March 02, 2024

Hot Santa Gertrudis hangout House of WOW is the perfect place to while away the winter hours, especially when Chaos Ibiza take over the venue for a Saturday night dinner and dance event with DJs Los Suruba and Chelu García (live). Indulge in a delicious House of WOW set menu for 55€ per person, linger over those delectable cocktails and then head into the glitterball-adorned clubhouse to dance the night away. Entry directly to the dancefloor from 11pm is just 15€ including a welcome drink. Due to limited seating, reservations for dining are essential, as is cancelling your plans for Sunday morning – this party bears all the hallmarks of a classic winter night out.

Morning Yoga Session and Brunch at La Torre Ibiza

9.30am – Saturdays and Sundays throughout February 2024

While most people associate La Torre Ibiza with sunset sessions and a Balearic soundtrack, there’s also plenty of reasons to visit the Cap Negret hotspot by day, including delicious breakfasts and long lazy lunches all year round. Saturday and Sunday mornings in winter also see the iconic venue host yoga sessions by the sea at 9.30am, followed by a healthy breakfast on the terrace. Classes are 30€ per person (including breakfast) and are led by instructor Jana of Yoga Balance Ibiza. Practicing on the rocky headlands with the beautiful blue Balearic skies above, and the Mediterranean Sea stretched out before you is a truly magical experience and spaces are limited so reservations are essential.

Winter Dining at Hämbre

Hämbre has created quite the buzz in the centre of Santa Eulalia since opening its doors. A 70s-inspired space centred around international cuisine, vintage décor, mood lighting and a buzzing vibe thanks to its loyal crew of creative clientele, the restaurant boasts indoor and outdoor spaces and is open all year round. Make a reservation for dinner and indulge in the ever-changing culinary collaboration between the team of chefs including Matias Romano and Miguel Lopez, each with many years of experience. They enthusiastically create internationally-inspired dishes, mixing classics and complete one-offs, that reflect their collective flair and deep respect for fresh, local produce, making Hämbre one of the most loved eateries on the island for food lovers.

Movie fans in Ibiza should make a beeline to the beautiful old school cinema, Cine Regio, in San Antonio on Tuesday nights for original language screenings of the latest Hollywood blockbusters. On Tuesday March 05, 2024 the long-awaited and much-hyped second instalment sci-fi thriller, Dune: Part Two hits the screen, with tickets on sale now so snap yours up before they sell out. Timothée Chalamet stars in this epic new mega-production, so make yourself comfortable as you settle in for the screening of your choice, this week is a double-header with showings at both 5.30pm and 8.45pm. Arrive early with plenty of time to get stocked up on popcorn before the credits start rolling.
