Ordinarily a relaxed cove on the island’s stunning southwest coast, come twilight, the famed Cala Molí beach club transforms into a haven for voyeurs who like their sunsets with a side of seduction. Inspired by famed Parisian shows like Crazy Horse and Moulin Rouge, this avant-garde Ibiza nightlife production combines tradition and modernity with explosive effect, fast becoming a must-visit on the island map.

Featuring six distinct productions every night of the week, El Silencio Ibiza Cabaret unfurls on the legendary beach club’s diminutive terrace. Shrouded behind a green velvet veil, pull back the curtain and a seedy-yet-sophisticated Ibiza nightlife world is revealed, where the atmosphere crackles with anticipation. Tight-knit tables are scattered throughout the intimate space, a mirror ball-tiled, phallus-shaped statue rising up between them, light catching its shapes as it beams down from above. A stage is positioned at eye-level, where artistes capture imaginations through thrilling twists and turns, almost close enough to touch.

Born from the colourful mind of creative powerhouse and multi-hyphenate Ali Madhavi and his right-hand man, Djanis Bouzyani, artistic consultant to celebrities including Dita von Teese, Karl Lagerfeld and Kylie Minogue, as well as high-end fashion houses like Balmain, Thierry Mugler, Jean Paul Gaultier and Agent Provocateur, El Silencio Ibiza Cabaret puts a new spin on the centuries-old genre. Ranging from pole dance and flamenco to strip tease and gravity defying acrobatic feats, the cast of sensational Ibiza nightlife performers have been hand-picked for their unparalleled prowess and talent. Silhouetted on the dimly lit stage, every contour and voluptuous curve is accentuated.

Staging is minimal at El Silencio Ibiza Cabaret – all eyes are on every carefully positioned move of the performers, but viewers can expect a series of solos, duos and trios to take centre stage, with no two performances ever the same as the artists react to stimulus from their surrounds and the audience. Nevertheless, expect lithe-limbed dancers from the Ibiza nightlife scene in glittering g-strings swinging expertly around a pole; brilliant burlesque performers in trench coats in a tribute to David Lynch-style film noir; and beautifully choreographed threesomes in which mesmerisingly entangled body parts mimic the salacious acts the usually take place behind closed doors.

Hosted by the oh-so-glamorous Mina Serrano, whose outfit matches the racy motifs adorned on floor and ceiling, every member of the audience can expect a multilingual, lighthearted ribbing. Meanwhile, drinks flow freely at the cutting-edge Ibiza nightlife venue, with everyone merry and mesmerised by the end of the night. Open to everyone but with very limited capacity, El Silencio Ibiza Cabaret has two exclusive showings at 9.30pm and 11.30pm, seven nights a week in high summer.
