Aiyanna Ibiza

Moonlight dinners and lively music are key to the magic nighttime ambience at Aiyanna Ibiza, an Ibiza restaurant with a picturesque position on the shores of Cala Nova

Words: Abby Lowe

On the shores of picturesque Cala Nova, Aiyanna Ibiza is an Ibiza restaurant that buzzes by day and morphs into a different guise once the sun has set, paving the way for memorable and magical Balearic nights by the sea. At dusk, the sky takes on a purple-tinted haze, and once darkness has fallen, the stars twinkle above and moonlight licks the sea’s shimmering surface, creating an idyllic backdrop for alfresco feasts with family and friends.

Offering modern Mediterranean cuisine with an international twist, the Aiyanna Ibiza menu is bursting with freshness and flavour, with local produce, superfoods and sharing plates at the fore. Starters at the Ibiza restaurant include a healthy and delicious kale salad with cashew pâté, sweet pomegranate, and crunchy sunflower seeds; and refreshing grilled watermelon, glazed in agave and served with rocket, toasted quinoa and fresh Ibicencan goat cheese. Seafood lovers will adore the grilled queen scallops in chilli and lime butter; or the house special: ‘Fritura Aiyanna’ – a fried selection of baby squid, John Dory, dogfish chunks and crispy cod with lime mayonnaise.

The creative culinary options at Aiyanna Ibiza include mains such as tender roasted cauliflower in miso and lime; a creamy sun-dried tomato risotto with labneh; and summer canellone stuffed with jackfruit, mushrooms and leek and piquillo pepper muhammara. The Ibiza restaurant‘s evening menu also features a delicate lobster fettuccini with fresh cherry tomatoes, sage and samphire; fresh Mediterranean bluefin tuna; and hearty options like Josper-grilled free-range chicken with zaatar; or melt-in-your-mouth lamb tagine. And there’s so much more.

Team with plenty of delicious side dishes – think grilled chilli lime and honey sweet potatoes; fresh cucumber salad with kimchi; or rosemary infused broccoli – and be sure to save room for dessert. From classic lemon pie, tiramisu and chocolate ganache to carrot cake with a hint of curry; strawberry tartar with Sichuan pepper and yuzu; and sweet potato pannacotta, it’s best to visit Aiyanna Ibiza in a group so you can order one of everything!
Bespoke cocktails are also a speciality at Aiyanna Ibiza, where the menu has been created in a nod to the world’s most famous artists. Try the La Gioconda by Da Vinci, a fruity concoction of Campari, limoncello, pineapple, falernum and lime; the exotic El Beso by Klimt, made with mezcal, tequila reposado, italicus, passionfruit, kumquat and vanilla; and the Japanese-inspired La Gran Ola de Kanagawa by Hokusai, a beguiling mix of sesame-infused sake, yuzu, umeshu honey, cherry butters and citrus air, which naturally, tastes best by the sea or at the stylish, newly renovated cocktail bar.

Weekend dinners at Aiyanna Ibiza come with a side of live music, and on Fridays, Ibizan duo Louie Lion take the stage at the Ibiza restaurant, combining live instruments and vocals to create their unique take on jazz and soulful house. On Saturdays, a traditional Spanish vibe descends, with The Rosemary Family’s irresistibly catchy flamenco and rumba soundtrack. On Sundays, Calle Boogaloo bring the upbeat vibes with their infectious mix of Latin and Cuban sounds. What better way to end the weekend?
